We awoke to rain and an overcast sky for the start of the second day of games. Today's two games were to be played at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. First up, a match against Ripon, a Northern California team.
The Del Mar team had a good opening game securing another win with a final score of Del Mar 10 - Ripon 5. Dakota's stats 2 shot attempts and 3 assists.
The second game was a heartbreaker against 25th ranked Northwood, losing by only one point. Northwood 6 - Del Mar 5. Dakota's stats - 3 shot attempts, 2 goals scored, and 2 assists.
The referees at this venue were horrible, and I am not saying that because the team lost. Both teams' coaches were complaining and were yellow carded for asking for clarification of a call. Lots of ticky-tack calls. Poor Dakota accumulated 3 ejections and was rolled right before the last few minutes of the game!
All in all, it was a good day for Del Mar and we couldn't be prouder of how Dakota was playing.
